Net Effect #3: Kristin Weaver — How a Start in Finance Led to a Career with the CIA and Fighting Poachers!

Kristin Weaver has worked in a variety of roles related to global financial operations, eventually leading to a 12-year career with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). After graduating from Principia College in 1990 with a double major in Business Administration and Political Science, she worked with banking and brokerage firms, focusing on operations, trading, and compliance issues, before entering Harvard Law School and earning her JD in 2000. Following graduation from law school, Kristin practiced corporate and securities law with a focus on cross-border mergers and acquisitions. After 9/11, she joined the Central Intelligence Agency as a targeter, tracking illicit global financial networks of terrorists, criminal organizations, and corrupt regimes. Kristin now lives in the New Orleans area and consults for a variety of clients ranging from corporate financial investigations to counter wildlife-trafficking.
