College Faculty: Theatre (Open Faculty)

Summary: Part-time, benefits eligible, Theatre faculty that teaches from the viewpoint of the liberal arts for the purpose of inspiring an artistic understanding of, and appreciation for, the performing arts. Teaching responsibilities may include all levels of Acting curriculum, Directing, and Theatre Practicum (as Director).
Additional duties include program specific projects (i.e. working with Department in the development of a summer performing arts camp or summer repertory theatre program), supporting Principia activities, and promoting Christian Science-based character education in accord with Principia’s mission as outlined in Education at The Principia.

Minimum Qualifications:
Active (or pending) membership in the First Church of Christ, Scientist and/or in a Journal-listed branch church or society of the First Church of Christ, Scientist; Christian Science class instruction preferred, but not required; MA or MFA Degree in Theatre or related performing arts field preferred; consideration given for significant professional experience – see related Tested Experience Document for qualifications; Ability to work with a range of students and skill levels; Classroom teaching experience or work with college-aged students preferred; Willingness to be an academic generalist who is able to teach multiple areas within the discipline.
